Happy Friday Gang!

Apologies in advance. Another short one this week.

I have been running around nonstop. Promise this isn’t always the case, but I did snag some genuinely good stuff for the weekend.

So enough yapping…here’s this weekend’s game plan.

Get Your Steps in For Date Night

Valentines date or solo - this is a really cool #experienceoverthings idea that came across my feed this week.

Last week we mentioned the escape room as a Valentine’s move - fyi they still have a few slots open for the weekend if you want to snag one.

But this is in that same vein: relatively cheap, super fun, and it gets you out and about actually doing something.

Letsroam basically put together a self-guided scavenger hunt (app-led) through downtown Napa. Here are the deets:

  • Time: ~1.5 hours

  • Distance: ~1.28 miles

  • Stops: Riverfront Promenade, Veterans Memorial Park, Uptown Theatre

  • Format: riddles/trivia + photo challenges as you walk

  • Tickets: ~$12.99 per person (varies by bundle)

It has a ton of positive reviews, but I’m curious if it leans touristy…or if it has those weirdly niche little Napa facts that people like us would really appreciate…

Either way - I could totally see this being a blast. A great option for a more active Valentines date.

Lowkey Galentines Art Demo

I always go for the $1 Mint Chocolates on the front counter ;)

If you’ve never been to Vintage Sweet Shop, it’s half candy, ice cream, chocolates (reasonably priced may I add!) and half tiny bar where they do wine tastings.

They are hosting an event which honestly looks like a super cozy drop-in afternoon. It’s hosted by the Napa Valley Art Association (the same group behind Open Studios), so my hopes are high because the talent at those Open Studios is mind-blowing.

Community Stuff For Families

If your Valentine’s plans are…nonexistent, I see you.

In the spirit of solidarity, I found things that will elevate “just another weekend” into a super wholesome (but doesn’t have to be romantic) time for families.

  1. Intro To Girl Scouts

We talked about Girl Scouts in the Jan 30 edition and they are doing another intro event to prospective Cookies at Fuller Park.

It’s basically for parents who are curious about enrolling their daughters and it’s a super low effort way to see what Girl Scouts is actually about before making the commitment.

Cookie samples involved. Smart marketing. Respect.

 Some quick details:

  • When: Saturday, Feb 14 - 11:00am to 12:00pm

  • Where: Fuller Park, 560 Jefferson St, Napa

  • Cost: Free

  • Good to know: They want you to register ahead so they bring enough materials.

  1. Some Zen Me Time

Mindfulness classes for those spiritual / yoga lovers.

I really wanted to highlight this because you rarely see something like this that’s actually catered for little kids.

I’ve heard great things - particularly that they quell the parents fear of toddler doing toddler things in a setting like that. And the reviews are basically all saying the same thing: it’s calming, super welcoming, and it’s one of the only “reset” type things you can do without needing childcare.

Details

  • Ages: 0-5

  • Where: Napa Valley Center for Spiritual Living, 1249 Coombs St, Napa

  • When: Multiple dates (1-hour sessions)

  • Cost: $29

  • Format: parent mindfulness + kid can play / be nearby

  • What it includes: breathing, meditation, sound healing (low volume), visualization, mindset coaching, Reiki

Ok I’m out.

Sorry again it’s a shorter one. But hope you all appreciate that I am sticking to my twice a week word 😀

Happy Valentine’s Day, take care, and I’ll catch you Monday.

Callie.
