Hey all - jam-packed one this week.

As always, I have included some of the genuinely useful stuff that comes with our Monday Town Notes…but with St. Patty’s tomorrow, you know I had to sneak in some of the fun events and happenings I found too.

So some of that Friday game plan flavor made its way in on this week’s Monday Town Notes.

I hope you enjoy 😃

Napa’s State Of The City.

Tonight is basically City Hall’s annual attempt to tell us how Napa is doing, what got done over the past year, and what they want us paying attention to next.

The official pitch is transparency, progress, priorities, all that good stuff. But for regular people, this is really a big-picture check-in, plus a chance to hear city leaders answer questions in public.

It’s happening tonight, March 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, with remarks from leadership, a presentation from City Manager Steve Potter, a moderated Q&A, and a reception after.

But let me say this: I know most of us are not exactly eager to spend a Monday night at City Hall, so I’ll report back next week with the good stuff.

Looking Around? Here Are A Few Job Links

A little practical one before we get into the fun stuff.

If you’re quietly job hunting, thinking about making a move, or just curious what is out there locally, I’ve been seeing a surprising number of interesting openings pop up around town lately, so I wanted to pull a few together here.

Napa Valley College President

NVC has been featured in the Lowdown a lot recently, and I guess all the shake-up has now turned into a search for a new president - which, honestly, is a pretty major job for a town our size.

Best of luck to whoever comes in, big shoes to fill.

Napa County Careers

A lot of the notable openings here fall into two buckets: county leadership and public safety.

Listen, I know we live in a very high cost-of-living area, but some of these salaries definitely had me considering a career change for a second.

Anyway, just wanted to throw a few out there in case anything caught your eye. Both of those job boards are honestly pretty great resources to keep an eye on.

St. Paddy’s Week In Napa

There is, somewhat surprisingly, a lot going on for St. Paddy’s this week.

Napa is not exactly known for its deep Irish heritage. We are not out here dyeing the river green or shutting down half the town for a parade.

But hey - maybe that is the 2027 vision if enough of you are interested.

Still, if you are trying to do something a little festive this week without going full blackout mode, Napa actually has a pretty decent mix of St. Paddy’s stuff happening. Let’s check it out:

Napa Yard

Tuesday, March 17 - doors at 12 p.m., live music from 4 to 7 p.m. at Napa Yard. Good old Napa Yard - of course they’ve got it going on.

Irish Boots

Thursday, March 12 - 7:30 to 9 p.m. at The Garden by Tannery Bend Beerworks. If your version of St. Paddy’s is less pub crawl, more boots and a little chaos, there was country line dancing for that too. Link here.

Downtown Joe’s Obviously

Seems to be full shenanigans mode over there, based on the social posts. Remember, it’s a Tuesday. Proceed with caution.

Have a great holiday week everyone!

As always, if you get into anything fun, cool, or interesting…send pics! And if I did miss anything or you have something to feature for a future edition…also hit reply!

See you Friday. Callie.
