We are so close…
Another 6, 7, 8, 9 hours for most of you and we’re home free into this magnificent long weekend.
Clear skies, warm sun, and a ton going on. I hope this week’s Friday Game Plan helps you make the most of it.
Let’s get into it.
Retroactive Fomo For Athletes
I get it.
You don’t plan your free time around trying hard and sweating outside. Same here. But I keep thinking about how awesome the sense of community was around last week’s Napa marathon.
It does something to you. There’s a weird bonding that happens when a bunch of people take on a challenge like that together.
And sure, some people trained like crazy. But a lot of folks just came for the communal part and walked what they could at a 15 min/mile pace.
So if that has you feeling even a tiny bit inspired this week (it definitely got me), here’s your next move:

It’s a 5K at Artesa, and the course is literally two loops around the vineyard. Runner-friendly, walker-friendly, “I just want to be outside with people” friendly.
Quick details:
when: Sunday, March 8 (start time listed as 8:30 am)
where: Artesa Vineyards & Winery - 1345 Henry Rd, Napa
what you get: timed bib, tee, medal (it doubles as a wine stopper), and yes, wine is part of the package
note: if you want to do a full tasting after, they say you’ll need a reservation
Discovering Your New Artsy Hobby
Nimbus Arts is one of those Napa nonprofits I’m always happy to shout out. I honestly don’t see them getting the credit they deserve.
Similar to the Art Association (the folks behind Open Studios), they’re constantly running classes, workshops, and genuinely good events.
And if you’ve been craving a hobby that isn’t scrolling or spending money in a tasting room - this is a solid place to start.
They’ve got a bunch going on this weekend.
Here’s the back-to-back-to-back action:
Nip & Sip Series ***CANCELLED AS OF 3/4 - NEXT ONE IN APRIL***
Friday, March 6 | 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Nimbus Arts St. Helena - 649 Main St, St. Helena
Their paint-and-sip style night.
Napa Riverside Studio Open House
Saturday, March 7 | 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Napa Riverside Studio - 101 S. Coombs St. #Y9
Probably the easiest entry point if you’ve never checked Nimbus out before.
Ceramics Open Studio Lab
Sunday, March 8 | 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Nimbus Arts St. Helena - 649 Main St, St. Helena
Good option if you want a slower, hands-on Sunday thing.
Full transparency: I haven’t been yet, but I’ve heard great things. If you’ve done anything with Nimbus before, hit reply and tell me what’s worth doing.
Here is their full calendar:
One For The Nerds
Ok ok before you yell at me - yes, the waitlist was full when I saw it. But how could I not include this.
I have a special spot in my heart for the D&D crew.
And by the way, I mean “nerd” in the highest compliment possible - people who get so into their thing. D&D, chess, running, selling CRM software, writing newsletters (hi)…whatever it is I love it when you can tell me everything about your thing.
So it’s awesome to see we’ve got a Dungeons & Dragons Club at the American Canyon Library because I know a lot of awesome nerds who get down with that.
Yes - it’s currently full.
But you can join the waitlist and/or bookmark it for the next one. (I have a feeling 2026 is going to be the year of tabletop games)
Alright, go enjoy your weekend.
If I missed something good, hit reply and send it my way. I’ll try to feature it next week.
Have the best weekend and see you Monday 🙂
Callie
